Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Jawed Bajwa has been named in Forbes’ list of the most powerful people in the world.
He was appointed to the post of COAS in 2016, and is ranked 68th among a list of 75 people.
Pakistan’s 10th army chief General Bajwa is the receiver of the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, and is now the only Pakistani to make it to the Forbes’ list.
The army chief is among 17 newcomers in the list along with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Chinese President Xi Jinping is at the top of the list this year.
Xi pushed Russia’s Vladimir Putin from top position.
US President Donald Trump, meanwhile, is ranked third.
Angela Merkel, the chancellor of Germany is ranked at fourth position and is the most powerful woman in the world.
Moreover, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked number nine on the list.
