Provincial minister for Tourism Atif Khan appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday in Malam Jabba land case.
After appearing before the NAB investigators, the minister told media he was never involved in any wrongdoing. He said that he was ready to face any punishment if misappropriation was proved against him. Reportedly, the investigation team has handed him over a questionnaire pertaining to leasing of land in the tourists resort.
The minister insisted there was no embezzlement in the lease contract as the highest bidder was given the contract. According to reports, 275 kanal of land was allegedly leased out in Malam Jabba to Atif’s relative. Last week, NAB had summoned KP Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan to appear before it on December 17 for investigation in connection with land leased out in Malam Jabba-Swat for sports resort.
The NAB team questioned him about his alleged involvement in the scam as he was then KP minister for Sports when the land was leased.
