A meeting on the Chief Minister’s Clinic on Wheels program was held at the Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Commissioner Multan Division Aamir Karim Khan. Deputy Commissioners of the division and Health Department officials attended.
The Commissioner said the program, which brings healthcare services to citizens’ doorsteps, is a people-friendly initiative. He outlined that mobile clinics provide medical checkups, basic diagnostic tests, essential medicines, ultrasound services, maternity checkups, and vaccination for children. The program has helped reduce the patient load at Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals and Basic Health Units.
Each mobile clinic is staffed with a doctor, lady health visitor, dispenser, and midwife, and carries 28 types of medicines. The Commissioner directed that geo-tagging of all Clinic on Wheels vehicles should be ensured.
Deputy Commissioners reported the operational status of vehicles across the division: District Multan has 24 COW vehicles, 4 FMHU vehicles, and 4 USG vehicles; District Khanewal runs 22 vehicles, 18 health camps, and 4 ultrasound vehicles; District Lodhran has 14 Bolan vehicles, 3 trucks, 11 passenger vans/ambulances, and 3 USG vans; and District Vehari operates 19 passenger vans, 3 ultrasound vehicles, and 3 rural vehicles.
The meeting was also attended by Additional Commissioner General Javed Khan, Additional Commissioner Revenue Mukarram Khan, and Chief Executive Officers of Health from all districts.
Following the meeting, the Commissioner visited Gulgasht Ladies Park and Dhobi Ghat Park to review recreational facilities. He directed improvements in lighting and washroom tiles at Gulgasht Ladies Park, installation of decorative lights around Bara Dari, and beautification of the park’s outer wall with private sector support.
Expressing dissatisfaction with Dhobi Ghat Park, he ordered its upgrade within two weeks, including ground leveling, grass planting, and enhanced lighting. Citizens shared their concerns, and the Commissioner highlighted the importance of community participation for sustainable improvements.
He further instructed the Director General of the Punjab Housing Authority (PHA) to increase public interaction in parks, noting that community involvement is crucial for long-term rehabilitation. DG PHA Kareem Bux briefed on current conditions and ongoing improvement measures.
